PF praised for developing west
BARATOSE Royal Establishment (BRE) induna Ing’anduka
has praised the Patriot Front (PF) Government for showing care to the people of
Western Province.
And Minister of Tourism and Arts Sylvia Masebo has
said the PF Government is in hurry to take development to the people of Western
Province.
Induna Ing’anduka, whose real names are Mubita Kamutumwa, said the BRE was happy that the PF Government making efforts to eliminate poverty amongst the local people.
He was speaking on Monday at Sioma Ngwezi
National Park head quarters in Shang’ombo District in Western Province.

the people in view of projects being implemented in the province.

Speaking at the same function, Ms Masebo said the Government was committed to uplifting the lives of people inWestern Province.
Ms Masebo siad the Govermnt has set aside a lot of money for developing the province and that people had not just accessed the money because they have lacked information on the funds.
Meanwhile, Ms Masebo said the Kavango Zambezi Tran Frontie Conservation Area (KAZA-TFCA) was in line with the PF Government developmental agenda as it was one way that could help out to put more money into the community.
She was speaking on Monday at the launch of the
infrastructural development of Ngonye-Sioma Falls, the release of Impala’s into
the Ngonye Falls community park and receipt of motor vehicles and a tractor
from the German embassy under the component of the KAZA-TFCA in Sioma,
Shangombo district in western province.

said that the PF Government wanted the local communities to participate in the
tourism business.

“The PF Government wants to implement the decentralisation a policy so that the local people are empowered and KAZA further seeks to accord communities and other stakeholders an opportunity to participate actively in the management and sustainable utilization of their natural resources,” she said.
The minister said KAZA also promoted growth of the
tourism industry through increased cross-border tourism opportunities and it
aimed at enabling communities to participate in and benefit from tourism
related enterprises.

to take advantage of the World Tourism Organisation (WTO) general assembly to
market their cultural traits by making and selling the

Victor Siamudala said the organisation was
concerned with the slow pace at which KAZA member countries used donated funds that for procurement activities involving about K9 billion.

“We are awaiting the disbursement of 4 million Euros under phase three but Zambia has delayed in procurements as only about K2 billion has been spent out of about K8 billion, so what would the funders say when we have not exhausted funds in phase two and we start to request for funds for phase 3,” Dr Siamudala said.
At the same event, Germany head of development corporation Georg Rademacher said his country was committed to assisting the Southern African Development Corporation (SADC) and KAZA secretariats.
Mr Rademacher said Zambia was vital to the
realization of the KAZA-TFCA goals in the region.
