LIVINGSTONE Chamber of commerce has praised Professional Insurance
Corporation for taking social responsibility seriously in the country
by supporting vulnerable children.
Chamber president Miles Daka said other companies in the country
should emulate the insurance company at giving back to the community.
He said the strength of the economy borders on around building a
strong base for the children who are the future leaders.
"The chamber is very happy that the insurance company has looked at
the plight of the vulnerable children in society and that they should
continue their good work toward children as they give back part of
their profits to the community," he said.

William Munalula said this can only be ignored at society's own peril
and his institutions' role cannot be over emphasized.
Mr Munalula said his institution will help in mitigating the poverty
levels among the under privileged in society
Speaking at the occasion of donating then thousand kwacha to Ebenezer
children home in Livingstone, he said it has chosen to be proactive in
assisting the underprivileged through partnership with the home.
"When other are busy complaining about the challenges of taking care
of orphaned children mainly from impoverished homes affected and
infected with HIVAIDS you have chose to by setting up this beautiful
home the children," he said.
Mr Munalula said it good the Ebenezer children home has risen and
joined the crusade of helping the under privileged children.
He said it is good the Ebenezer has not joined the people that have
been busy complaining about the issue of taking acre of the orphans
mostly affected by HIVAIDS.
Mr Munalula further paid tribute to the home for helping the children
with education which is key to national development.
"You have gone further to provide education through setting up of
school where children bring nothing to school but receive everything a
child needs," he said.
Mr Munalula said it is not the intention of professional insurance to
merely donate but to continue e supporting the home in other areas
like supplying books for the school as well as donating blankets that
will be used by the orphanage.
Ebenezer Children's Home Executive director Ranji Chara paid tribute
to the professional insurance for the gesture of donating the money to
the institution as it will go a long way in helping the children
She said running the home has just been by faith and she hopes that
they will be people that will help to put up a skills training centre
and a secondary that will target school drop outs.
