A 36 year old police officer has told the Livingstone high court that the firearm which was used in the robbery could penetrate even a short distance.

A 36 year old police officer has told the
Livingstone high court that the firearm which was used in the robbery could
penetrate even a short distance.
This is in a case in which John Sikota, 23 is
charged with aggravated robbery and attempted murder.
It is alleged that on June 16 last year in
Livingstone, Sikota jointly and whilst acting with other people unknown, he
robbed Lilly’s bar and stole a laptop and cash K1, 100 altogether valued at K4,
190.
Detective constable Boniface Kalonde, was testifying
before, Livingstone high court judge in charge Ernest Mukulwamutiyo, he said he
rush to the crime scene with his equipment which he examined.
Kalonde said he discovered there was an empty bullet
cartilage outside the building.
“We search the ground of the crime scene and near
the entrance of the bar, we found two empty bullet cartilage. I took photo
graphics of the same, I also saw blood stains on the wall of the bars,” he
said.
He said blood
was also found on the wall and he further took photo graphics of the same.
Kalonde said at the counter inside the bar he saw a
bullet hole which was caused by the gun which was used in the robbery.
“At the bar,
I found hole which I suspected to have been caused by the bullet, which had hit
the wall,” he said.
Kalonde said according to his experience the type of
gun, used it was possible for the bullet to hit a person and the walls of the
counter.
He said he
had enough experience as he had worked as a police officer for 16 years adding
that he had worked in the scenes of crime department for over four years to
date.
