“The PF government is pro-poor and we will do everything possible to better the living standards of people trading in these markets stands,” Mr Kabimba said.
Mr Kabimba, who described Libuyu market as refugee camp expressed displeasure at the unsanitary state of trading places in the market.
“This looks like a refugee camp and there is no reason why our people should live in such a situation as if there was war in the country,” he said.
“The situation in the market has deteriorated and the PF will ensure that the situation changes by implementing life changing policies for the people trading here” Mr. Kabimba said.
Mr Kabimba who also visited Maramba and Dambwa central markets said it was saddening that trading places had deteriorated and pledged the PF Government’s commitment towards improving the status of the traders.
Mr Kabimba, who is in the province to check how the ruling party is faring, also advised the opposition dominated Livingstone city council to avoid politicking but co-operate with the ruling party in
delivering development.
And on Thursday evening Mr Kabimba featured on Radio Musi-o-Tunya where he said that he did not have any supervisory role in government but that his role was merely to ensure that Government is operating in line with the party’s manifesto.
Mr. Kabimba said that he was operating privately as a secretary general for the PF and that he does not draw any salary from government.
He said that the PF still stands with its policies and promises which the Zambian people voted it into office.
